Student Exchanges – the «Golden Bridge» of the Future of Kazakhstan and Indonesia

Jakarta, April 23, 2024 – A meeting was held at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Jakarta with students of the Faculties of International Relations and Economics of the University of National Development of Indonesia “UPNV Jakarta” and the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages named after Ablai Khan, who are interning in Indonesia as part of a student exchange.

Welcoming future international experts, Ambassador Serzhan Abdykarimov stressed the importance and necessity of developing cooperation between the two countries in the field of education and training of young personnel, who will continue to play the role of a link and a “golden bridge” in strengthening friendly and mutually beneficial relations between Kazakhstan and Indonesia. He told the youth in detail about the successes and achievements in the development of the 30-year Kazakh-Indonesian partnership, which was reflected in the visits and meetings at the level of heads of states, government and parliamentary delegations, the growth of trade and investment cooperation, business, tourism, cultural and educational ties.

According to the Director of the International Office of the University of National Development of Indonesia “UPNV Jakarta”, diplomat Bambang Susanto, large-scale political and economic transformations have enhanced the international image of Kazakhstan as a progressive and open to innovation state. He supported the new economic policy of Kazakhstan, emphasizing the importance of diversification and demonopolization of the economy, expansion of international trade and investment ties for regional cooperation and integration.

Bambang Susanto highly appreciated the constructive role of Kazakhstan in the international arena and interaction with major players, made new proposals to expand academic cooperation between Indonesian and Kazakh universities.

At the end of the event, Ambassador Serzhan Abdykarimov answered the questions of Indonesian students and presented them with books about the history, culture and tourist attractions of Kazakhstan. The guests were also offered traditional Kazakh tea with baursaks, samsa and chak-chak.
