The Holiday Nauryz was Celebrated at the Representation Office of the Organization of Turkic States in Budapest

Budapest, April 17, 2024 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Hungary Zhanibek Abdrashov took part in the event of the Representation Office of the Organization of Turkic States in Hungary, dedicated to the celebration of Nauryz holiday.

In honor of Nauryz, a symbol of renewal shared by all Turkic peoples, participants were served national dishes from their respective countries, and a group of talented young Turkic-speaking students in Budapest performed music.

Ambassadors from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkiye and Uzbekistan, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, academics, staff from member countries’ embassies, and other participants were among the event's honored guests.

István Vásáry, who recently took over as Executive Director of the Representation Office of the Organization of Turkic States in Budapest, began by congratulating the audience on the occasion of Nauryz and emphasizing the importance of Organization of Turkic States to Hungary. In addition, he stated that he would do everything possible to promote its goals and interests, as well as to deepen relations between Organization of Turkic States member countries and Hungary.

It should be noted that István Vásáry is a well-known Turkologist, a scholar who researches the history of the Golden Horde, and has also served as Hungary’s ambassador to Turkiye and Iran.
