Brussels, 26 September 2023 – The capital of the European Union hosted a screening of the Kazakh film “Dos-Mukasan” as part of the cultural programme marking the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Union.
Welcoming the audience, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Belgium Margulan Baimukhan thanked the guests for their interest in modern Kazakh culture, stressed the importance of developing cultural and people-to-people ties with the European Union, along with enhancing the political and economic dialogue between our nations.
In this context, “Dos-Mukasan” successfully conveys the spirit of its era, introduces foreign movie-goers to the exceptional musical heritage of the ensemble, while uniting different generations of Kazakhstanis living abroad.
“Through this movie, we invite you to explore Kazakhstan, its music, but also to start your journey into the whole region of Central Asia with its rich history, unique nature, and rapidly growing, young societies,” said the diplomat.
The screening is co-organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Brussels and the Kazakh Film Festival in France at the Cinema Palace, an art house cinema located in the heart of Brussels aimed at promoting the diversity of cinematographic art.
Representatives of the European and Belgian institutions, members of the Kazakh community living in Belgium, local movie-goers and representatives of foreign media attended the screening.
The film was produced by the State Centre for Support of National Cinema and Aray Media Group with support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Shooting of the film took almost seven months, the film was released in 2022. The film’s script was written by Efrat Sharipov, together with producer Aigul Baibek and director for musical accompaniment Aidyn Sakhaman.
