Regarding the accreditation of mass media representatives to the 21st International Meeting on Syria within the Astana Process

Dear journalists,

In accordance with the collective appeal of the “Astana Format” guarantor countries, the 21st International Meeting on Syria within the Astana Process will be held in the capital of Kazakhstan on January 24-25, 2024.

Delegations from Russia, Turkiye, Iran, the Government of Syria and the Syrian opposition will take part in the negotiations. Representatives of Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon, as well as the UN, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and the International Committee of the Red Cross are expected to participate as observers.

The provisional agenda includes the development of the regional situation around Syria, efforts for a comprehensive settlement in the SAR, the humanitarian situation in Syria and the mobilization of the international community’s efforts to promote post-conflict reconstruction in Syria, etc.

Following the results of the negotiations, you are invited to highlight the plenary session of the participants of this meeting, which will be held on January 25, 2023 in Sheraton Astana Hotel (60/1, Syganak Street).
