Astana, October 4, 2023 – Director of the Department of Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Suleimenov met with the Ambassador of Montenegro Milorad Šćepanović.
During the conversation, the level of political dialogue and trade and economic cooperation achieved in recent years was highly appreciated.
In particular, the meeting of the Presidents of Kazakhstan
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Montenegro Jakov Milatović on September 19, 2023 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, gave an additional impetus to the development to the Kazakh-Montenegrin relations.
The high level of political relations between Kazakhstan and Montenegro has created favorable conditions for the implementation of the potential in the trade and economic sphere. Regular political consultations serve as an effective mechanism in strengthening and developing cooperation between the two countries.
Particular emphasis was given to the interaction in the field of tourism. In this regard, the importance of the direct flights between Astana and Podgorica, as well as the visa-free regime for citizens of Kazakhstan was highlighted.
For reference: Every year about 40 thousand Kazakh citizens visit Montenegro as tourists.
In conclusion, Olzhas Suleimenov thanked the Ambassador for his active work in intensifying high level contacts and wished him success in his future work.
Milorad Šćepanović thanked the Kazakh side for constant support during his mission in Kazakhstan and expressed confidence in the further development of strong bilateral relations on the whole range of political, economic, cultural and humanitarian issues.
