Meeting at Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 30th Anniversary of Kazakh-Korean Diplomatic Relations

Nur-Sultan, January 28, 2022 - First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Shakhrat Nuryshev met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Koo Hong Seok on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, Nuryshev noted the fruitful cooperation between the two states in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as significant achievements in strengthening it over the past 30 years in the spirit of genuine respect and strategic partnership.

On the occasion of the anniversary date, the sides exchanged congratulatory letters from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in, as well as Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Chung Eui-yong.

Tileuberdi noted in his letter that the relations between the two countries are traditionally based on the principles of friendship and mutual support.

"I am convinced that the dynamics of the expanded strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Korea, which was given last year by the heads of the two states, will develop incrementally every year," he said.

In turn, Chung Eui-yong agreed that "the state visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Republic of Korea last year served to deepen the Strategic Partnership between our nations."

"And as we look to the three decades to come, it is my heartleft hope to futher develop the partnership with your country which has indeed well demonstrated its capability and competence by overcoming the internal difficulties early this year," the South Korean minister stressed.
