Nur-Sultan, 27 November 2021 - The US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) issued a commentary on the draft law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Visual Information and Religious Activities."
The American experts welcomed the efforts of Kazakhstan in the field of ensuring religious freedom. “The USCIRF is grateful to the Government of Kazakhstan for its ongoing commitment to religious freedom reform,” the commentary notes.
According to the Commission, the current bill demonstrates Kazakhstan's “good faith efforts” and “represents real progress” in this area. The Commission said it looked forward to the continuation of the constructive dialogue within the framework of the Kazakhstan-US Religious Freedom Working Expert.
