Ambassador of Kazakhstan Presents Credentials to NATO Secretary General

Brussels, 9 September 2021 – Head of the Mission of Kazakhstan to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Ambassador Margulan Baimukhan, presented his credentials to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

During the conversation, after the official ceremony, the sides discussed the state and prospects of Kazakhstan’s cooperation with NATO, as well as current issues of international and regional security. They also touched upon issues related to the new Individually Tailored Partnership Programme between Kazakhstan and NATO for 2022–2025 within the framework of the concept One Partner – One Plan. In addition, the parties exchanged views on the state of affairs in Afghanistan and possible measures to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan population.

The Kazakh diplomat briefed the NATO Secretary General about his country’s contribution to strengthening international security, in particular, about sending 120 servicemen of Kazakhstan’s peacekeeping company to Lebanon to participate in the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mission.
