Nur-Sultan, July 9, 2021 - Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi met with the President of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly Volkan Bozkir, who paid to Kazakhstan a working visit.
During the meeting, the parties discussed further interaction between Kazakhstan and the UN in combating pandemic and climate change, achieving Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring global and regional security and stability, and exchanged views on a wide range of issues on the international agenda.
The President of the UN General Assembly spoke positively about the anti-crisis measures and reforms being undertaken in the country, which are aimed at implementing the concept of the "Hearing State", and welcomed the development of the Kazakh vaccine QazVac.
In addition, Volkan Bozkir commended the international activities and initiatives of Kazakhstan in the areas of nonproliferation of weapons of mass destruction, strengthening global biological security, religious tolerance, gender equality, promoting the interests of the landlocked developing countries, as well as our country's efforts to resolve international conflicts and provide assistance to Afghanistan and a number of Central Asian countries.
During the visit, the President of the UN General Assembly was received by the Head of State and held a meeting with the Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Volkan Bozkir was elected President of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly on June 17, 2020. The UN General Assembly is the main deliberative, policymaking and representative body of the UN and serves as a forum for multilateral discussion of the entire spectrum of international issues.
