Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov took part in a meeting of the Regional Investment.
The meeting brought together representatives of central and local government agencies and the business community to discuss investment project facilitation, measures to improve the investment climate, and prompt resolution of issues faced by investors.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister Kuantyrov highlighted Almaty Region's role as one of Kazakhstan's key drivers of economic growth, emphasizing its strong industrial, agro-industrial, and transport and logistics potential.
"Almaty Region is a strategically important agro-industrial, industrial, and transport and logistics hub, and one of the country's main engines of economic growth", – said the Deputy Foreign Minister.
As part of his visit, Deputy Minister Kuantyrov also toured several major investment projects in the region, including facilities of Carlsberg Central Asia, PepsiCo Central Asia, Asia United Steel, and the Almaty Fan Plant, which is implementing a joint venture with LG Electronics and Hi Air Korea.
The visit underscored the importance of continued close cooperation between central and local government authorities and investors to ensure the timely implementation of investment projects, create new jobs, and strengthen the region's industrial potential.
The region's investment portfolio currently comprises 283 projects worth approximately KZT 8 trillion, expected to create more than 154,000 permanent jobs. These projects are supported through the National Digital Investment Platform and dedicated investor support mechanisms.
