Astana, June 11, 2026 - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev met with the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Bandar Al-Khorayef.
During the talks, the parties discussed current issues of trade, economic and investment cooperation, with particular attention paid to prospects for expanding collaboration in the industrial sector, including mining and metallurgy, critical minerals and infrastructure.
Minister Kosherbayev underscored that Kazakhstan attaches high priority to the development of its strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia, noting the importance of the agreements signed earlier this year on the establishment of the Kazakhstan-Saudi Coordination Council and on the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments.
The interlocutors also discussed opportunities for implementing joint projects in the mining industry and the critical minerals sector, as well as prospects for the participation of Saudi companies in investment initiatives in Kazakhstan.
The meeting also touched upon issues related to water security and prospects for advancing international cooperation in this field.
For his part, Minister Al-Khorayef expressed interest in further developing practical cooperation across all areas of the bilateral agenda.
Following the talks, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the mutually beneficial partnership between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia.
