
The 11th round of Kazakh-French political consultations was held in Paris with the participation of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Issetov and Director of the Department for Continental Europe of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs Brice Roquefeuil.
During the talks, parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the further deepening of the Kazakhstan-France enhanced strategic partnership, as well as current issues of multilateral cooperation.
Deputy Minister Issetov noted that the political dialogue between Kazakhstan and France is stable and based on mutual trust, supported by regular high-level contacts.
During the discussion of economic issues, Deputy Minister Issetov emphasized France’s role as one of Kazakhstan’s leading European trade and investment partners, noting that the cumulative volume of French investments in the Kazakh economy amounts to approximately 21 billion US dollars. French companies are widely represented in the country and contribute to the development of Kazakhstan’s priority sectors, including energy, agriculture, transport infrastructure, industry, sustainable development and healthcare.
In the humanitarian sphere, both sides confirmed their mutual interest in expanding cooperation in education, science, and culture.
The sides also confirmed the closeness of their positions on issues on the multilateral cooperation agenda, approaches to strengthening international peace and security, as well as their commitment to the principles of international law and the UN Charter.
Within the framework of the environmental and climate agenda, the Kazakh side expressed hope for an active stance by French partners at the UN Regional Environmental Summit to be held in Kazakhstan on April 22-24, 2026. The participation of the French delegation will serve as a logical continuation of the One Water Summit initiative, which was held under the chairmanship of the Presidents of Kazakhstan and France in December, 2024 in Riyadh.
For his part, Director Roquefeuil reaffirmed France’s interest in further developing comprehensive cooperation with Kazakhstan and emphasized the importance of the practical implementation of existing agreements, which remain under the constant attention of the heads of states.
As part of his visit to Paris, Deputy Minister Issetov met with Frédéric Mondoloni, Director-General for Political and Security Affairs at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, during which topical bilateral, regional and international issues were discussed.
