Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Held a Meeting with CITIC Group Management

Astana, May 28, 2025 – Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu held a meeting with Xi Guohua, Chairman of the Board of China’s CITIC Group.

The parties discussed prospects for further expanding cooperation across various spheres of the economy, as outlined during the meeting with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev the day before.

Special attention was given to investment interaction and the launch of new joint projects in Kazakhstan with a focus on the high-tech sector, logistics infrastructure and agro-processing.

CITIC Group ranks among the earliest major Chinese investors to enter the Kazakh market, having successfully implemented projects such as JSC Karazhanbasmunai, the Caspi Bitum joint venture, and JSC Altyn Bank.
