On 27 May 2022, Kazakhstan and Estonia celebrate an important event - the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.
Thirty years of consistent development of bilateral relations demonstrate the growth of mutual interest in cooperation: regular political dialogue is maintained at all levels, delegations are exchanged, and a solid foundation of the legal framework has been created. The level of Kazakh-Estonian relations testifies to their growing potential and a solid basis for cooperation.
Kazakhstan and Estonia have constructive interaction on multilateral level by making a contribution to strengthening peace and global security.
An important impetus to the expansion of a comprehensive dialogue was given by the visits of President N. Nazarbayev (1994 and 2011) to Estonia, Presidents L. Meri (1994) and A. Rüütel (2004), Prime Ministers A. Ansip (2009 and 2012) and J. Ratas (2018) to Kazakhstan.
The opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Estonia in the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2011 and of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Tallinn in 2019 have been significant events, which indicate the intention of the parties to develop long-term cooperation.
Kazakh-Estonian trade and economic relations are steadily strengthening and are in search of new opportunities. The activities of the parties, including the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation contribute to the growth of these ties. The parties demonstrate a steady interest in cooperation in a number of promising areas, such as digital and green technologies, transport, and logistics.
Cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere is also developing. The sphere of education demonstrates good dynamics, all the main educational institutions of the two countries are interconnected within this cooperation.
In the 30 years of diplomatic relations, our countries have achieved significant successes in many areas of cooperation and are determined to achieve continued progress in political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries in the interest of peace, security and stability.
