Kakheti, February 8, 2024 - Kazakh Ambassador to Georgia Malik Murzalin visited olive plantations in the Georgian region of Kakheti, seedlings of which are planned to be planted in several regions of Kazakhstan.
The President of the International Olive Council, Georgy Svanidze, introduced the Kazakh diplomat to the olive production and processing industry in Georgia, and also spoke about the phased development process of this industry in Kazakhstan, including with the support of Georgian specialists.
The plans include planting the best varieties of olives, creating plantations, launching a processing plant, and obtaining an international certificate necessary for exporting Kazakhstani olives abroad.
Currently, experimental planting of olive tree seedlings has been carried out in the Zhetysu and Mangystau regions. It is also planned to send Georgian seedlings to the Turkestan region this year.
G.Svanidze noted that Georgia is ready to share knowledge, experience and innovations in olive cultivation in Kazakhstan. For his part, he will assist in granting Kazakhstan membership in the International Olive Council, an organization that controls 90% of world olive oil revenues and 74% of its trade.
For his part, the Ambassador noted that the head of the Kazakh state pays great attention to the agricultural sector of Kazakhstan, the development of modern agricultural science and the active introduction of innovations into the agro-industrial complex. In this regard, the task has been set to increase the share of processed products in the agro-industrial complex to 70% within three years.
The Kazakh diplomat also spoke about the political and economic reforms being implemented in Kazakhstan, emphasizing measures to create a favorable business climate that create wide opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.
The parties agreed to maintain working contacts on the implementation of planned projects in our country.
