Working Meeting of the Heads of Water and Energy Authorities of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was held in Tashkent

On 13–14 February 2026, a working meeting of the heads of water and energy authorities of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was held in Tashkent.

The Republic of Kazakhstan was represented by a delegation of профиль ministries headed by Minister of Energy Yerlan Akkenzhenov.

The meeting was also attended by Vice Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of Kazakhstan Talgat Momyshev, representatives of the Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company (KEGOC), the Financial Settlement Center for Support of Renewable Energy Sources, as well as diplomats of the Embassy of Kazakhstan.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of trilateral cooperation in the management of water and energy resources, as well as issues related to ensuring the sustainable and balanced operation of the regional power system.

Particular attention was paid to coordinating generation capacity operating regimes, complying with agreed water use parameters, and developing joint approaches.

The participants emphasized the effective development in recent years of multilateral cooperation among Central Asian countries across all areas, including the fuel and energy and water management sectors.
