During the visit to the Samarkand region, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan, Beibut Atamkulov, visited the enterprises of the “SAG Group holding”, including the agricultural company “SAG Agro”, the carpet weaving enterprise SamAntepGilam, the production company Agromir, the Samarkand Metallurgical Plant, and enterprises in the "Urgut" Free Economic Zone.
At SAG Agro, Beibut Atamkulov was introduced to advanced agricultural technologies used to grow high-quality seedlings. The company has a strong production base and a breeding laboratory capable of growing 15 to 20 million cuttings and grafted seedlings. Currently, they are cultivating climate-resistant seedlings of export fruits such as walnuts, almonds, peaches, cherries, apricots, and pears.
The Ambassador then visited SamAntepGilam, one of the leading producers of high-quality carpets in the region. The company successfully combines innovative technologies and modern production standards to manufacture world-class products.
At Agromir, a company specializing in the production of canned goods and fruit juices, B.Atamkulov familiarized himself with the fully implemented production cycle technology, using equipment from China, Russia, and Turkey, adapted for processing fruits and vegetables based on modern technologies.
At the Samarkand Metallurgical Plant, B.Atamkulov reviewed the plant's production capacities, which include the manufacturing of metal pipes, profiles, and cold-rolled steel products. The plant was established in 2009 and has actively developed several investment projects since 2018. It plays a vital role in the region's metallurgical industry.
The Ambassador then visited the "Urgut" Free Economic Zone, established in 2017. On its 1,262 hectares, enterprises produce textiles, footwear, electrical equipment, and light industry products. The Ambassador was introduced to the operations of several enterprises in the FEZ.
During meetings with company leadership, the parties discussed the prospects for further cooperation with Kazakhstani manufacturers and the potential for exporting products to the Kazakh market.
