On October 17, 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan Beibut Atamkulov met with the Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov.

During the negotiations, on the eve of upcoming events at the highest and high levels, the parties discussed the implementation of the Roadmap points between the Governments of the two countries for the execution of instructions given following the state visit of President of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoyev to Kazakhstan in August 2024.

Special attention was paid to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of agriculture, including projects in the field of crop production and animal husbandry, in particular on the cultivation of cattle and deep processing of agricultural products.

The parties noted the importance of introducing innovative technologies, exchanging experience and expanding trade and economic ties in the agricultural sector.

For reference: in January-August 2025, the turnover of agricultural products increased by 27.6% to $1.3 billion. The main products of Kazakhstan's exports remain grain, flour, meat and sugar, the demand for which is steadily growing. Kazakhstan is one of the three leading importers of fruit and vegetable products from Uzbekistan.

Atamkulov invited Uzbek agricultural producers and entrepreneurs to take an active part in the Kazakh-Uzbek Business Forum, which will be held on October 20, 2025 in Tashkent.

Following the talks, in order to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector, the parties agreed to continue a substantive dialogue and strengthen joint work on cooperation between relevant departments and business circles of both countries.
