On June 5, the XIX meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Forum, chaired by the Uzbek side, organized by the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, began in Tashkent.
The main topic of the Forum was "The role of the SCO in the new conditions: joining forces to ensure universal security, stability and prosperity."
The event was attended by more than 40 experts from 10 countries, including representatives of the national research centers of the SCO member states, experts from observer states and dialogue partners, as well as heads of the SCO Secretariat and the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS. Representatives of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Institute of World Economy and Politics took part on behalf of the Kazakh side.
The program of the meeting includes three key sessions devoted to the main areas of cooperation within the SCO, improving the effectiveness of the organization at the present stage and prospects for further development of the Forum.
At the end of the event, it is planned to sign the Minutes of the meeting, which will set out the approaches and vision of the participating States on the issues under discussion.
