
On May 16 of this year in the Navoi and Nurata of Navoi region held solemn events dedicated to the 380th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Kazakh statesman Ayteke bi. The celebration began with a traditional zierat in the mausoleum of the famous ancestor.
The event brought together the descendants of Ayteke bi, including both Kazakhs living in Uzbekistan and guests from a number of regions of Kazakhstan, including Aktobe, Almaty, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, Turkestan regions and the cities of Almaty, Shymkent. In addition, descendants from Russia and Germany came to honor the memory of the statesman.
The event was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan Beibut Atamkulov and Kazakh diplomats.
On this occasion, the Governor of Navoi region Normat Tursunov organized a meeting with the participants of the event, at which the head of the diplomatic mission B. Atamkulov noted the common history, the centuries-old friendship of the two peoples and the strengthening of Kazakh-Uzbek relations at the present stage.
In honor of the celebration, a gala concert was organized with the participation of the creative team of the Kyzylorda Regional Philharmonic, representatives of the Kazakh stage, which gathered over three thousand people.
In addition, with the support of the khokimiyat of Navoi region, sports events and a competition of akyn improvisers "aitys" will be held for three days.
It should be noted that the burial place of the outstanding figure was discovered a quarter of a century ago. Archaeologists of Kazakhstan, with the participation of Russian and Uzbek colleagues, conducted research, on the basis of which it was established for certain that this is indeed the burial of Aiteke bi.
In 2009, with the support of his descendants, famous political figures and representatives of the Kazakh diaspora, the mausoleum was erected. Later, a memorial complex with a mausoleum and a mosque was built.
