Samarkand hosts the 21st session of the Committee for the Review of the Implementation of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification

The fight against desertification and land degradation is being discussed in Samarkand.

From November 13 to 17, 2023, Samarkand hosts the 21st session of the Committee for the Review of the Implementation of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification. The conference is attended by representatives of more than 1,000 international and scientific organizations, as well as financial institutions from 190 countries.
The conference includes plenary and panel sessions, a round table with the participation of foreign scientists. The participants of the round table considered the possibility of implementing joint research projects. At the same time, the Intergovernmental Working Group on Effective Drought Policy and Response presented its report on the ongoing work.
During the session, the Kazakh-German University held a parallel event "Study of sustainable urban and agricultural landscapes in Central Asia". At the meeting of experts and scientists of Central Asia, the progress of effective management and landscaping of landscapes was discussed.
