Swedish Scania intends to expand its activities in Kazakhstan

Södertälje, November 29, 2024 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Sweden Olzhas Suleimenov visited the headquarters of the Swedish truck manufacturer «Scania CV AB», where he met with Fredrik Wijkander, Head of sales for Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia.

During the meeting, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan noted the significant potential of Kazakhstan as a key transport and logistics hub in Central Asia, stressed the developing dynamics of the truck market in Kazakhstan and the opportunities opening up for Swedish automakers in our region.

The parties also discussed the current status of the project for the SKD assembly of trucks of the Swedish brand «Scania» on the basis of the local «QazTehna» in Saran, as well as further plans to expand the business of the Swedish company in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, which will contribute to the development of the domestic economy, create new jobs and increase the technical potential of the country.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue on promoting mutually beneficial partnership between Kazakhstan and Scania CV AB.
