Innovation in the telecoms industry is in the focus of mutual interests of Sweden and Kazakhstan
Stockholm, 28th of November 2024 – Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Sweden Olzhas Suleimenov visited the headquarter of Swedish telecoms equipment manufacturer «Ericsson».
As part of his visit, the Kazakh Ambassador met with the company's Chief Technical Officer Networks for Central Asia Anatoly Ilyaich.
During the conversation, the representative of «Ericsson» familiarized the Kazakh diplomat with the latest technologies and breakthrough researches in the use and development of 5G technologies. In addition, a demonstration platform «Imagine Studio» was presented, which illustrated the evolution of telecommunication systems, base stations and other equipment.
In turn, O. Suleimenov told about the current trends in the ICT sector in Kazakhstan, the reforms carried out by the Head of State in this area, the processes of digitalisation and creating an IT-hub in Astana.
In addition, the parties discussed current projects and future plans of «Ericsson» to expand its presence in Central Asia.
In conclusion, the parties agreed to maintain contacts on all issues raised during the meeting.
«Ericsson» – is a Swedish technology giant, a manufacturer of telecommunications equipment. The headquarter of the company is located in Stockholm. «Ericsson» started its activities in Kazakhstan back in 1899, when the first telephone switchboard was installed in Semey. This year marks the 125th anniversary of co-operation between our country and Ericsson.
