A master class on the decoration of the kazakh national headdress takiya was held in Stockholm

On February 7, 2023 in Grand Hotel of Stockholm next to the Royal Palace and the National Museum, a cultural and image event was held by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Sweden headed by the spouse of the Ambassador Mrs. E.Nurtaeva.

The meeting was attended by more than 30 guests, including representatives of the Association of Spouses of Foreign Ambassadors in Sweden (ASAS), as well as the President and Vice President of the International Women's Club (IWC).

Speaking to the guests, the spouse of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Sweden told about the history of Kazakhstan, inheriting the traditions of the Turkic peoples who led a nomadic lifestyle in the steppe, as well as about the traditional culture, household and everyday lifestyle, spiritual culture of the Kazakhs.

The Kazakh national customs and traditions were of particular interest among the participants. The guests noted the beauty of the syrga salu ritual, the decoration of the Kazakh yurt, which is included in the UNESCO material heritage list, and the exposition of national costumes became a colorful background for the event. The guests were greatly impressed by the quiz with questions about Kazakhstan, the winners of which received memorable prizes-souvenirs.

Also within the framework of the event, with the participation of an ethno-designer from Kazakhstan, costume designer and founder of her own brand Ms. Anel Assanova, a master class was organized on decorating the national headdress tubeteika, which each of those present received as a gift. The master class pleased the guests and emphasized the interest in the culture of Kazakhstan, acquaintance with which is important in the context of the development of interethnic dialogue and cooperation.

The holiday ended with a dinner, where guests were treated to Swedish and European dishes.
