Meeting with Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs of Singapore Masagos Zulkifli

On June 16, 2022, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Singapore Arken Arystanov held a meeting with the Minister for Social and Family Development, Second Minister for Health & Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs of Singapore Masagos Zulkifli.

During the meeting, the Ambassador informed Minister Zulkifli about the seventh Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions that will be held on September 14-15, 2022 in Nur-Sultan and conveyed an official invitation to participate in the event.

The Singaporean side was also informed about constitutional reforms implemented by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev that are aimed at building a fair and "New Kazakhstan", as well as the results of the national referendum.

In turn, Minister Zulkifli thanked for the invitation and said that Singapore also supports measures to observe interreligious harmony and unity. At the same time, the Government places special emphasis on maintaining a healthy balance between religious views and civil rights, which ensures effective coexistence of communities.

In addition, Minister informed Kazakh side that Singapore will host a conference on interfaith harmony "The International Conference on Cohesive Societies" from September 6-8, 2022 to which religious figures from Kazakhstan are invited.

In general, the parties, noting the importance and relevance of maintaining interreligious dialogue, reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining contacts, including the exchange of experience.
