On May 13-14, 2024, the Asian Women's Forum

On May 13-14, 2024, the Asian Women's Forum was held in Samarkand on the theme "A regional approach to the economic, social and political empowerment of women".

The forum was attended by women deputies of Asian parliaments, representatives of more than 40 diplomatic missions of foreign countries and foreign organizations in Uzbekistan, local government agencies, as well as about 400 representatives of civil society institutions.

The delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan was represented by Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan O.V. Perepechina, Vice-Speaker of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan D.M. Espayeva, as well as members of the National Commission on Women's Affairs Karinova Sh.T., L.Karabasova.

The forum held eight sessions on various topics, where they discussed the economic empowerment of women and their political opportunities, ensuring access to quality education and science, the development of women's and family entrepreneurship, the protection of women's rights and interests, as well as the elimination of all forms of violence against women and children.

During the event, the Kazakh delegation held bilateral meetings with the Chairman of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan Narbayeva T.K., as well as with the Vice-Speaker of the consultative assembly of the Qatar State Majilis Al-Shura Sulaiti H., where prospects for bilateral interparliamentary cooperation were discussed. The parties paid special attention to the mutual cooperation of the parliaments to ensure the implementation of high-level bilateral agreements, including legal support for joint projects in trade, economic, transport, communication, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
