The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language Shows Interest in Collaboration with Leading Universities of Kazakhstan

Riyadh, January 5, 2025 – The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia, Madiyar Menilbekov, held a meeting with the Secretary General of the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, Abdullah al-Washmi.

Ambassador M. Menilbekov expressed his gratitude to the Academy for organizing language internships for Kazakh students and briefly discussed the history of the development of Oriental Studies, including Arabistics in Kazakhstan.

Menilbekov emphasized the great interest of Kazakh universities in collaborating with educational institutions of Saudi Arabia, particularly with the Academy.

Secretary General A. al-Washmi spoke about the activities of the Academy and its collaboration with various foreign universities, expressing readiness to continue organizing language internships for Kazakh students and faculty members.

During the meeting, several issues concerning the development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia in the field of Arabic language studies were discussed, particularly the organization of language internships for Kazakh students and faculty, joint preparation of various dictionaries and textbooks on Arabic, as well as conducting joint research projects between Kazakh and Saudi universities and research centers in the field of Arabic language studies and teaching.

An agreement was reached on cooperation in the joint development of an Arabic-Kazakh-English online dictionary of diplomatic and political terms.

A separate meeting was also held with Kazakh students currently undergoing a language internship at the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language.
