Simplified visa procedure for UK citizens

Simplified visa procedure for UK citizens

Dear friends!

We are delighted to announce that Air Astana, the national air carrier of Kazakhstan, will resume its direct flight service between Nur-Sultan and London from 18 September 2021.

The new flight will be operated twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays on the company’s new Airbus A321 neo (LR) aircraft. For further information, please visit the Air Astana website.

As you may know, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Kazakhstan, the government has temporarily suspended in 2020 its unilateral visa-free scheme which covers citizens of 54 countries, including the United Kingdom, Ireland and Iceland, until 31 December 2021 with further notice depending on the COVID-19 situation.

At the same time, in light of the resumption of direct flights between Kazakhstan and the UK, the procedure of obtaining Kazakh visas and traveling to Kazakhstan has been simplified for UK passport holders.

In particular, the United Kingdom citizens can apply for a visa and enter Kazakhstan without a permission from the Kazakh Government’s Ad hoc Interdepartmental Commission as required by the Rules of Crossing Kazakhstan’s State Border for the Duration of the Quarantine.

Please note: all visitors must present a negative PCR test certificate (issued no more than 3 days before crossing the border of the Republic of Kazakhstan), except for children under 5 years of age.
