On the meeting of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan with the Undersecretary of the Multilateral Security Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia

On December 11, 2020, in Putrajaya, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Malaysia B.Imanbayev has met with the Undersecretary of the Multilateral Security Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia Kennedy Mayong Onon.

During the meeting, diplomats have exchanged views on the current state and prospects of multilateral cooperation within the framework of different international organizations such as the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, etc.

In particular, Ambassador informed the interlocutor about the chairmanship of Kazakhstan in the CICA in 2020-2022 and acquainted with the priorities of the Kazakhstan chairmanship. During the conversation, the possibility of raising the observer status Malaysia in the CICA to full membership was also discussed.

In the framework of cooperation with the OIC, issues of interaction with the Islamic Organization for Food Security, which was created on the initiative of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Leader of the Nation Nursultan Nazarbayev, were considered.

In turn, the Malaysian diplomat noted the active work of Kazakhstan in a multilateral format, and also highly appreciated the successes achieved during the years of Kazakhstan's independence in the international arena.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed a mutual desire to further develop comprehensive partnership in all international fora.
