Kazakhstan and Indonesia strengthen cooperation in the religious sphere and halal industry.

On 24-26 September, 2026, the Kazakh delegation consisting of Ermek Haji Mukatay, Deputy Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan, and Aibek Atashev, Director of "Halal Damu" company, participated in the "Halal Indo 2026" exhibition and the International Conference of Grand Imams in Jakarta.

During the events, the Kazakh delegation met with Sholahudin al Aiyub, Executive Director of the National Committee for Sharia Economy and Finance of Indonesia (KNEKS); Heni Rusmiati, Director of Halal Product Standardization of the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH), and Asrorun Niam Sholeh, Chairman of the Fatwa Committee of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).

Two parties discussed the implementation of the Agreement on Cooperation between the Religious Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan and the Indonesian Ulema Council, as well as issues of cooperation in the halal industry and the mutual recognition of halal certificates.
