First Visit of Kazakh Diplomats to Europol

The Hague, January 20, 2025 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Kairat Abdrakhmanov, paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) to familiarize himself with the activities of this body. The current activities of the renowned regional organization were presented by the Deputy Executive Director for Governance, Jürgen Ebner, who highlighted Europol's support to EU member states in preventing and combating all serious forms of international crime, including drug trafficking, cybercrime, and terrorism.

The European side was interested in learning about the measures being taken in Kazakhstan to achieve a just state, a just economy, and a just society, one of which is the return of assets illegally taken out of the country, along with the formation of the corresponding legal framework and structures within law enforcement agencies. It was also noted that Europol coordinates its activities not only within the EU but also collaborates with other partners, particularly in cases of threats to the lives and safety of their citizens. The exchange of expertise, particularly in the field of combating modern forms of crime related to the use of new technologies by the criminal world, is of particular interest to both parties.
