Netherlands-Kazakhstan Business Association hold the first regular meeting of 2021 online

The Hague, 27 January 2021 - A traditional meet and greet session of the Ambassadors of Kazakhstan and the Netherlands with the Netherlands-Kazakhstan Business Association took place in the format of a video conference. The Chairman of the Board of Kazakhtelecom JSC K. Yessekeyev was invited as a special guest.

Welcoming the participants, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan A. Zhumagaliyev briefed the members of the Association on the current trends in the political and socio-economic development of Kazakhstan. In particular, the Ambassador spoke about the results of the elections to the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan held on 10 January 2021, and the reforms announced on 15 January 2021 by the Head of State K. Tokayev.

Furthermore, during the speech A. Zhumagaliyev noted the close mutually beneficial relations between the countries, as well as the role of the First President N.Nazarbayev’s personal contacts with the leaders of the Netherlands, a country that participates in the economic development of Kazakhstan. In addition, the Kazakh Ambassador specially noted the importance of the visit of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan A. Mamin to the Netherlands by the end of 2019, which gave an impetus to the Kazakh-Dutch business cooperation, especially in the agricultural sector.

In turn, the Ambassador of the Netherlands A. Carstens briefly summed up the results of 2020 and informed the audience about the plans and priorities of the Dutch Embassy for the current year, highlighting such spheres of cooperation as agriculture, green economy and energy.

In conclusion, the Chairman of the Association H.Nieboer gave the floor to K.Yessekeyev and introduced him in the new role of the Honorary Chairman of the Netherlands-Kazakhstan Business Association. Thanking the Ambassadors and the members of the Association, K. Yessekeyev shared his ideas for strengthening B2B ties and expressed his willingness to support business cooperation between the countries.

The event was attended by representatives of the embassies, Kazakh Invest, as well as the scientific and business circles of Kazakhstan and the Netherlands.
