"Poultry Forward Kazakhstan" Programme Launched in the Netherlands

Utrecht, 3 June 2026 – The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of the Netherlands participated in the official launch ceremony of the Partners for International Business (PIB) programme "Poultry Forward Kazakhstan", held on the sidelines of VIV Europe 2026, one of the world's largest international exhibitions for the livestock and poultry industries, in Utrecht.

The event brought together representatives of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), Dutch Poultry Centre, Wageningen University & Research, leading Dutch poultry companies, as well as representatives of Kazakhstan's industry associations and business community.

Opening the event, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of the Netherlands H.E. Akan Rakhmetullin highlighted the strategic importance of further strengthening Kazakhstan–Netherlands cooperation in agriculture and the agro-industrial sector. He noted that the Netherlands remains the largest foreign investor in Kazakhstan and one of the country's key trade and economic partners. Today, bilateral cooperation is successfully expanding into such areas as agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, innovation and digital technologies.

Particular attention was given to the ongoing modernization of Kazakhstan's agricultural sector, aimed at increasing productivity, developing value-added agricultural processing, introducing advanced technologies and strengthening export potential. In this context, the launch of the "Poultry Forward Kazakhstan" programme was highlighted as an important practical step towards further deepening the partnership between Kazakhstan and the Netherlands.

The programme will be implemented during 2026–2028 and is designed to support the sustainable development of Kazakhstan's poultry industry through the transfer of modern technologies, expansion of business ties, exchange of expertise and introduction of advanced industry solutions.

A key milestone of the ceremony was the signing of an agreement between the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and members of the Dutch consortium, officially marking the start of the programme's implementation.

On the margins of VIV Europe 2026, representatives of the Embassy of Kazakhstan and the Kazakh delegation also held a series of meetings with executives of Dutch companies and industry organizations. Discussions focused on opportunities to expand cooperation in poultry farming, agricultural technologies, food processing, production localization and the implementation of joint investment projects.

The launch of the "Poultry Forward Kazakhstan" programme demonstrates the strong mutual interest of Kazakhstan and the Netherlands in developing a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership in the agricultural sector, while creating new opportunities for the adoption of advanced technologies and enhancing the competitiveness of Kazakhstan's agro-industrial complex.
