The Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Guangzhou was established by Decree No. 794 of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 17 February 2025 and was officially opened on 16 January 2026.
The consular district covers Guangdong, Hunan, Hainan, and Yunnan provinces, as well as the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The Consulate General serves citizens and businesses of Kazakhstan located in southern China, as well as foreign nationals planning to travel to Kazakhstan, and carries out the following functions:

• protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• provision of consular services;
• issuance of visas and consideration of visa applications from foreign nationals;
• promotion of trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and the regions of China;
• support for cultural, educational, and humanitarian ties;
• facilitation of business and partnership contacts between Kazakhstan and the regions of China.
