Investment and Industrial Cooperation Prospects: Kazakhstan and Ganz-MaVag International Kft. Discuss Key Initiatives

Budapest, March 4, 2025 – The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Hungary hosted a meeting with the leadership of Ganz-MaVag International Kft., dedicated to discussing opportunities for localizing railway car manufacturing and expanding cooperation in the transportation sector.

During the meeting, the parties explored the potential for establishing production facilities for the assembly and manufacturing of railway cars in Kazakhstan. This initiative will not only increase localization levels but also create new jobs and strengthen the country's industrial capacity. Ganz-MaVag International Kft. expressed interest in establishing a joint production of passenger railcars, which will be a significant step in developing Kazakhstan's railway engineering sector.

The discussion also covered the modernization of the railway fleet, including the supply of modern rolling stock and prospects for cooperation in technical maintenance. In this context, the company expressed its readiness to establish a service center for the maintenance of passenger railcars, ensuring a high level of operation and technical support for the equipment.

Additionally, the parties discussed prospects for technology transfer and specialist training in mechanical engineering, including professional education and internship programs.

Kazakhstan is actively integrating digital solutions into the railway sector, which was one of the key topics of discussion. The meeting addressed the introduction of intelligent traffic management systems, predictive maintenance technologies, and digitalization processes to enhance railway infrastructure efficiency.

Both sides expressed their interest in continuing the dialogue and deepening bilateral cooperation. Following the meeting, it was decided to further discuss specific investment mechanisms and cooperation formats at the level of industry experts and relevant government agencies.
