December 3, Brussels. Kazakh Ambassador Margulan Baimukhan met with ex-President of the European Commission, former Prime Minister of Luxembourg Jean-Claude Juncker.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the results of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.Tokayev to Brussels (November 25-26, 2021), his meetings with the leadership of the European Union and Belgium. The Kazakh diplomat stressed that the visit of the Head of State to Brussels certainly gave a new dynamic to Kazakh-European relations. H.E. Baimukhan also spoke about the ongoing political and socio-economic reforms in Kazakhstan, vaccination of the population in Kazakhstan, the production of the Kazakh vaccine "Qazvac".
The ex-President of the European Commission was interested in the development of Kazakhstan, regional security issues, primarily the current situation in Afghanistan. The European politician was informed about Kazakhstan's approaches to stabilizing the situation in Afghanistan and the measures taken to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan population, including sending humanitarian aid in the amount of 5 thousand tons of flour. During the conversation, it was noted that Kazakhstan actively cooperates with the UN World Food Program and European partners in the delivery of international humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
Due attention was paid to the expansion of communication in the field of green economy, investments between Kazakhstan and Luxembourg. Mr. Juncker proposed to actively cooperate with Luxembourg in the trade and economic sphere.
Special emphasis was placed on the issue of promoting the anti-nuclear movement - the creation of a Global Alliance of Leaders for Nuclear Security and a world free of nuclear weapons, initiated by the First President of Kazakhstan - Elbasy N.Nazarbayev. Mr. Juncker noted that he remembers with great warmth the long-term personal friendship with Elbasy and asked him to convey his best wishes to him.
In conclusion, the Ambassador invited Mr. Juncker to join the Global Alliance of Leaders for Nuclear Security and a World Free of Nuclear Weapons.

The Alliance's goal is to become an influential global platform capable of uniting world leaders and activists into a broad coalition promoting the creation of a secure future for humanity, free from the threat of nuclear war.
