The 125th anniversary of Kanysh Satbayev was celebrated in Brazil

Brasilia, April 10, 2024 – On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the great Kazakh scientist, geologist and academician Kanysh Satbayev, a Round table dedicated to the life of Kanysh Satbayev and the modern development of science and geology of Kazakhstan was held at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Brazil in a hybrid format. The event was timed to coincide with professional holidays - Geologist's Day and Science Day, which are celebrated in Kazakhstan in April this year. The meeting was attended by well-known experts from the two countries in the field of economics, geology and extractive industries.

During the event, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil Bolat Nussupov, President of the Brazil-Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Cassiano Pereira Viana, President of the Brazilian Foundation for Mineral Research Jose Lenzi, as well as well-known experts in the field of geology and mining of Kazakhstan Anvar Boranbayev and Kanat Kudaibergen made welcoming speeches and reports.

Ambassador Bolat Nussupov in his speech spoke about the modern development of science in Kazakhstan and noted the historical role of Academician Kanysh Satbayev in the formation and international recognition of domestic geology, which is still one of the key factors of our country's economic progress.

In this context, the Ambassador focused the guests' attention on the main messages of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, made by him at last year's meeting with veterans of the geological industry of Kazakhstan. In particular, according to the Head of our State, geology needs a new impetus, especially in terms of comprehensive exploration of the subsurface.

 In the opinion of the speakers, Kanysh Satbayev is a world—renowned scientist who has made an invaluable contribution to the development of Russian geology as a science. It was also noted that Academician Kanysh Satbayev participated in the development and implementation of ambitious projects in Kazakhstan, which still affect the economic condition and development of our country.

In general, the participants of the meeting, highlighting the sphere of scientific development in Kazakhstan, noted the intensive scientific and technological progress in the country, which is confirmed by the implementation of a number of national projects aimed at increasing the number of strong scientists in absolutely all scientific fields. The guests and experts of the event also exchanged views, positively assessed the consolidated role of the country's leadership in this, wished success and prosperity to the people of Kazakhstan on the way to implementing reforms and large-scale projects.
