THE LIBRARY OF THE FIRST PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN - ELBASY AND THE NURSULTAN NAZARBAYEV FOUNDATION ANNOUNCE A CONTEST FOR JOURNALISTS "INDEPENDENCE OF KAZAKHSTAN AND ELBASY"
The Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy and Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation announce the annual International contest "Independence of Kazakhstan and Elbasy" among print and e-media workers dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The purpose of the contest is to popularize the ideas and initiatives of Elbasy as the basis of Kazakhstan's statehood, promote the country's achievements over the years of Independence in the international space, create moral and material incentives for creative self-realization and professional growth of print and e-media workers, identify new promising names in the Kazakh and international journalism communities.
The competition is held in five categories:
1) "The best TV material";
2) "The best radio material";
3) "The best article in newspapers and magazines";
4) "The best publication in the Internet media";
5) "The best publication in foreign media".
Professional journalists can participate in the contest on an individual or collective basis.
Original author's materials in Kazakh, Russian, English and other languages that are officially published (televised, posted on the Internet) from October 10, 2020 to October 10, 2021 are accepted for participation in the contest.
The results of the contest will be summed up by the Contest Commission, which includes well-known journalists, prominent state and public figures of Kazakhstan. The award ceremony will be held on the eve of Independence Day.

REGULATIONS
on the open International contest “Independence of Kazakhstan and Elbasy” among print, e-media and audiovisual media workers
- MAIN PROVISIONS
1.1. The state institution "The Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy" and Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation hold an open international contest "Independence of Kazakhstan and Elbasy" (hereinafter - the Contest) among employees of print, electronic and audiovisual media (hereinafter - the media) according to the Contest categories.
1.2 The Contest Nominations are approved annually by a joint order of the state institution "The Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy" and Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation
1.3. Contest Goals:
- the popularization of “Nazarbayev model”, the ideas and initiatives of Elbasy as the basis of Kazakhstan’s statehood;
- the information and image promotion of the country's achievements over the years of independence in the international space;
- the creation of the moral and material incentives for creative self-realization and professional growth of employees of print and e-media;
- the identification of new promising names in the Kazakh and international journalistic communities;
- the introduction to the media circulation of materials from the archive, library and exhibition collections of the Library of Elbasy.
1.4. The competition is held in the following nominations:
1) "The best TV material" (TV feature, news video, analytical review, special report, interview, commentary, documentary);
2) "The best radio material" (radio program, radio review, radio essay, radio play, analytical review, interview);
3) "The best article in newspapers and magazines" (article, essay, analytical review, report, interview);
4) "The best publication in the Internet media" (informational message, essay, analytical review, interview, report, review, essay);
5) "The best publication in foreign media" (materials published in foreign media about the initiatives of Kazakhstan and the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan).
1.5. All information about the Contest is available on the websites: https://presidentlibrary.kz and www.fnn.kz.
1.6. In order to provide informational and technical support to the contestants, the video materials about the activities of the Library of Elbasy were posted on the Library website www.presidentlibrary.kz and the YouTUBE portal (channel: the Library of the First President).

2.1. The prize fund of the Contest is 11,000,000 tenge:
"The best TV material":
1st place - 1 000 000 tenge
2nd place - 700,000 tenge
3rd place - 500,000 tenge.
"The best radio material":
1st place - 1 000 000 tenge
2nd place - 700,000 tenge
3rd place - 500,000 tenge.
"The best article in newspapers and magazines":
1st place - 1 000 000 tenge
2nd place - 700,000 tenge
3rd place - 500,000 tenge.
"The best publication in the Internet media":
1st place - 1 000 000 tenge
2nd place - 700,000 tenge
3rd place - 500,000 tenge.
"The best publication in foreign media":
1st place - 1 000 000 tenge
2nd place - 700,000 tenge
3rd place - 500,000 tenge.
2.2. The contestants who won prizes will receive special badges, certificates, diplomas and money prizes.
- TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE CONTEST
3.1. The Contest accepts original materials officially published (first published, broadcasted, and posted on the Internet) from October 10, 2020, to October 10, 2021 (inclusive).
3.2. The Contest accepts applications for participation in person and in electronic form from June 1 to October 20 (inclusive) 2021 by the address: Z05S5X1, Republic of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan, A.Bokeikhana st., 1A, room.343 and by e-mail: presidentlibrary.pr.kz@gmail.com with a note "For the contest "Independence of Kazakhstan and Elbasy".

3.3. The participants must provide following documents for participation in the Contest:
- Application form, in accordance with the attached form;
- Competition work;
- Copy of identity card or passport;
- A certificate of employment certified by the media executive;
- Broadcast information about the publication (demonstration) of material in the media.
3.4. The authors may participate in the Contest as an individual or as a group. Individual or group of authors have the right to participate only in one category. The Contest allows the series of materials united by one name among the works.
3.5. By signing the application, the author (group of authors) automatically gives consent to the Contest organizers to publish the contest work in the media at their discretion.
3.6. Form of submission of Competition entries:
- The television product - video material on a disk with links to the websites;
- The broadcasting product - audio material on a disk and a confirmation document of the broadcast;
- The products of periodicals - a scanned electronic copy of an article on disk with links to the websites;
- The products in the Internet media - an electronic copy of the publication in the format of "Word" on the disk with links to the websites.
3.7. Competition entries are not limited in terms of volume.
3.8. Criteria for evaluating Competition entries (on a 10-point scale):
- The compliance of the content of the competition work with the topic and objectives of the contest;
- The creative novelty and originality of the idea;
- The depth of work content;
- The level of technical performance (including the level of use of infographics, 3D-graphics, etc.);
- The general aesthetic and emotional perception.
3.9. The Contest accepts competition entries in all languages of the world.
3.10. The author (team of authors) is responsible for the authenticity of the content and authorship of the competition work.
3.11. The Contest is not accepting works of an advertising nature.
3.12. If necessary, the organizers of the Contest have the right to request additional information from the contestant confirming the authenticity of the material, the timing of its release and authorship.
3.13. The organizers of the Contest reserve the right not to award prizes in individual nominations and places, as well as to redistribute the prize fund between the nominations.
3.14. The Contest does not peer review nor return submitted works.
- SUMMING UP THE CONTEST
4.1. The Contest Commission sums up results of the Contest.
4.2. Contest applications are accepted from June 1 to October 20 (inclusive), 2021.
4.3. The selection of competition works and summing up the results of the Contest are held until November 25, 2021.
4.4. The award ceremony for the winners of the Contest will be held from 1 to 13 December 2021.
