– This holiday celebrates the original art of our people, which has deep historical roots. Kazakh and dombra are inseparable concepts. Dombra is a sacred instrument, about which legends have been composed since ancient times. There is no Kazakh who does not know the origin of the kuya "Aksak kulan" ("Lame kulan"). The sacred dombra has always been passed down from generation to generation. Kazakhs consider this musical instrument a talisman that captures the chronicle of centuries. In modern terms, this is our national brand – " the President said.

According to him, the majestic sounds of two strings preserve the musical heritage of the Great Steppe and the secrets of our ancestors. Our people transmitted their joys and sorrows, dreams and hopes through kui. The Head of State stressed that there are no Kazakhs who would not be inspired by the sounds of the dombra, and the melody of this instrument sounds everywhere where our compatriots live. And today, the noble heritage of the Kuishi who conquered the entire steppe is our priceless spiritual heritage.

– "Saryarka" of Kurmangazy, "Sarzhailau" of Tattimbet are the peaks of the art of kuya. Nurgisa's "Akku" is a unique work, its sounds have penetrated into the blood and flesh of the Kazakhs. The sacred heritage that these geniuses left us has now become the property of all mankind. The art of Kuya has been included in the UNESCO Cultural Heritage list. A lot is being done in Kazakhstan to popularize dombra and continue the traditions of kuya. A monument to the great Kurmangazy has been erected in the capital. And the day before, a monument in honor of Kuishi Dina was solemnly opened – " Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted.

The President believes that the spirit of a nation with a developed culture will always be on top. Therefore, the younger generation should continue the traditions of this sacred art with dignity. Having supported the initiative to introduce optional study of dombra at school, the Head of State expressed confidence that these lessons will have a positive impact on strengthening the national consciousness of children, expanding their worldview and raising the cultural level.

– Since May 1 of this year, creative circles have started working by state order, in which children will be able to participate for free. This will contribute to their familiarization with national values. It is very important to educate the younger generation in the spirit of respect for the dombra. Today, young performers combine dombra performance with modern music and thus introduce the world to the sound of this instrument. This increases the interest of the peoples of the world in our history and culture, forms a unique image of Kazakhstan, the President said.

In conclusion, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the art of music does not divide people by nationality or language, and the melody of dombra unites all ethnic groups of our country on the basis of common values and leads to spiritual unity.

– Dombra, which raises the spirit of our people, has a place of honor in every house. Dombra is the soul of the Kazakh people – the President said.
