The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Ethiopia Held a Meeting with the Kyrgyz Delegation

Addis Ababa, January 14, 2025 – The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia hosted a meeting between the Embassy staff and the Kyrgyz delegation, led by the Special Envoy of the President and First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Asein Isayev.

The purpose of the Kyrgyz delegation's visit to Addis Ababa was to promote the candidacy of the Kyrgyz Republic for non-permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council for 2026–2027, as well as to strengthen cooperation with African countries.

During the meeting, prospects for cooperation in multilateral diplomacy, the strengthening of political dialogue, and the development of economic and humanitarian ties with African countries were discussed. The Kazakh side shared its experience of campaigning for non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council for 2017–2018 and highlighted specific aspects of its engagement with African countries.
