At the recent International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) conference, ICAN-2024, held in Kuala Lumpur, representatives of the aviation authorities of Kazakhstan and Ethiopia signed a «Memorandum of Understanding on Air Services», opening up opportunities for passenger and cargo air transportation between the two countries.
The signing of the memorandum demonstrates the desire of Kazakhstan and Ethiopia to strengthen cooperation in civil aviation and create favourable conditions for the growth of tourism and business relations.
The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ethiopia facilitated the establishment of cooperation between the aviation authorities of the two countries and held a number of meetings with the management of the national air carrier of Ethiopia - Ethiopian Airlines.
«Ethiopian Airlines» is one of Africa's leading airlines, operating flights to 130 destinations. «Ethiopian Airlines» ranks 7th in the world in terms of cargo volume and is the leader in this indicator in Africa. Today, the «Ethiopian Airlines» fleet consists of 138 aircraft, including 27 Boeing 787s and 9 Boeing 777s, as well as Boeing 737 Freighters with a maximum payload of up to 107 tonnes, allowing the company to remain a leader in the transportation of passengers and cargo on the African continent and beyond.
