
Addis Ababa, August 21, 2024 – The IBA Champions’ Night boxing tournament was held for the first time in the capital of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa, under the auspices of the International Boxing Association (IBA).
The tournament was held from August 17 to 18, 2024, and attended by boxers in various weight categories from Ghana, DR Congo, Zambia, Morocco, Mexico, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tanzania and Ethiopia.
The tournament was organized by the International Boxing Association (IBA), the African Boxing Confederation (AFBC), the Ethiopian Boxing Federation, and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Ethiopia.
The titled Kazakh boxer Temirtas Zhusupov took part in the tournament in the flyweight category, and won an important victory over the representative of Uzbekistan Nodirjon Mirzakhmedov.
Trained by Kazakh coach Yerlik Algabek the Moroccan boxer Yasin Eluarzo in the 75 kg weight class defeated Mitiku Alu from Ethiopia.
