Kazakhstan and Ethiopia confirmed their mutual interest  in developing long-term cooperation in veterinary

Addis Ababa, May 22, 2026 – With the support of the Embassy of Kazakhstan, a meeting was held between the Kazakh delegation, led by Yergali Abduraimov, General Director of JSC “QazBioPharm” National Holding” and Dr. Takele Abayneh, CEO of the National Veterinary Institute of Ethiopia.

At the beginning of the meeting, H.E. Mr. Zhalgas Adilbayev Ambassador of Kazakhstan delivered a welcoming speech and commended participants for expressing their interest in developing cooperation between Kazakhstan and Ethiopia in veterinary medicine.

Furthermore, the head of the Kazakh national holding company presented information about the activities of QazBioPharm, its institutional structure, and expressed interest and readiness for long-term cooperation with the National Veterinary Institute of Ethiopia, including joint vaccine production, technology transfer and provide assistance in enhancing skills for Ethiopian scientists.

Dr. T.Abayneh, CEO of the National Veterinary Institute of Ethiopia, also briefed the Kazakh delegation on the activities of his institute and expressed hope for further fruitful and long-term cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on perspectives areas of cooperation and agreed to establish a joint technical team of experts to thoroughly study priority areas and prepare a draft Memorandum of Cooperation in this area.

At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed appreciation to the Embassy for organizing the event and confirmed their mutual interest in continuing dialogue to develop and strengthen long-term partnerships.
