On May 28, in the city of Dubai, the delegation of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) led by R. Bekturov, with the support of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the UAE and the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Dubai, organized the "AIFC Connect: UAE 2024" event.
The aim of this event was to present Kazakhstan's investment opportunities, its economic role in Central Asia, and the activities of the AIFC.
In his welcoming speech, Kazakhstan's Ambassador to the UAE, Najmedin Mukhametaliuly, highlighted the dynamic cooperation between the two countries, which is based on significant economic potential, business interests, mutual respect, and shared values. The Ambassador also emphasized the role of economic diplomacy in expanding bilateral relations. The Embassy of Kazakhstan is actively working on attracting investments and establishing connections between investors and local businesses.
The event gathered over 130 representatives from more than 100 companies, including investment banks, international financial institutions, consulting firms, and legal firms.
On May 27, 2024, in Dubai, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the UAE, Najmedin Mukhametaliuly, met with the President & CEO of Dubai Chambers, Mohammed Ali Lootah. During the meeting, the parties discussed trade and economic relations and potential partnerships between the chambers of commerce of the two countries. The Emirati side announced the upcoming opening of a Dubai Chambers office in Almaty. Mohammed Ali Lootah emphasized that the primary goal of this initiative is to assist Kazakhstani entrepreneurs in establishing companies in Dubai and creating a Central Asian hub to support business operations in the region.
Abu Dhabi, May 27, 2024 – A special bell-ringing ceremony was held in Abu Dhabi today to mark the official integration of the Astana International Exchange (AIX) into the Tabadul Digital Exchange Hub, a platform established by the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) to facilitate inter-exchange trading. This collaboration aims to enhance liquidity and simplify trading mechanisms for investors by providing cross-access to securities listed on both AIX and ADX. Tabadul offers remote access to financial instruments for brokerage firms affiliated with the participating exchanges, underlining the partners' commitment to expanding business relationships and strengthening cooperation.
Launched in July 2022, Tabadul is the first digital exchange service in the region operating on a mutual market access model. The platform creates a digital exchange network for trading among member exchanges at both regional and global levels, ultimately aiming to enhance cooperation and increase liquidity across the participating markets.
With the integration of AIX to the Tabadul exchange hub, it significantly expands the scope and capabilities of the platform, ensuring seamless and efficient trading and settlement experiences for trading participants and investors.
At the ceremony, Assel Mukazhanova, Chairwoman of AIX, commented:
“The trading partnership between ADX and AIX aligns perfectly with the objectives of AIX and will enhance cross-border market integration between Kazakhstan and the GCC markets. Joining the Tabadul Digital Exchange Hub opens new opportunities for Kazakhstani investors and enriches the array of instruments available to market participants.”
The event was attended by Mr. Renat Bekturov, Governor of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), Mr. Najmedin Mukhametaliuly, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the UAE, and the leadership of ADX.
On May 14, 2024, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, H.E. Najmedin Mukhametaliuly, met with H.E. Saif Abdullah Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary for Protocol Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, and presented him with the copies of his credentials.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates, and exchanged views on strategies to further deepen their mutually beneficial partnership.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Saif Abdullah Al Shamsi congratulated Mr. Ambassador on his new appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic mission.

March 14, 2024 the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the UAE
Madiyar Menilbekov met with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates Suhail Al Mazrouei.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the joint intergovernmental declaration on the creation of strategic investment projects, signed in January 2023 during the official visit of President of Kazakhstan
K. Tokayev to the UAE, as well as issues of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
The dynamics of the growth of attracted direct investments from the UAEto Kazakhstan was noted at the meeting. In particular, in the first 9 months of 2023, direct investments in the amount of $494 million were attracted from the UAE to Kazakhstan.
The Minister of Energy and infrastructure of the UAE noted the importance of investment projects implemented jointly with Kazakhstan and confirmed his interest in further developing cooperation, paying special attention to projects in the field of renewable energy sources, information technology and artificial intelligence.
During the meeting, the Kazakh diplomat presented to Suhail Al Mazrouei an invitation from Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan M.Nurtleu to the Astana International Forum, which will be held on June 13-14 this year.
The parties reached an agreement to continue working together in order to further develop bilateral cooperation.
On March 5 of this year, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the UAE M.Menilbekov met with the UAE Minister of State Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh.
During the meeting, issues of mutual exchange of visits at the highest and high level, trade and economic cooperation and expansion of the legal framework were discussed.

At the end of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to continue working together to further strengthen cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the UAE.
On February 29 of this year, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Emirates M. Menilbekov met with the Diplomatic advisor to the President of the UAE Anwar Gargash.
Issues of cooperation between the two countries in various fields were discussed at the meeting.
The Kazakh diplomat presented A.Gargash an invitation from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Tokayev, sent to the Vice-President, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court of the UAE sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan to participate in the “Astana International Forum”, which will be held on June 13-14 this year .
The Diplomatic advisor to the President of the UAE gratefully accepted the invitation and especially emphasized the importance of this event.
The parties noted the positive dynamics in the development of relations between Kazakhstan and the Emirates in recent years and reached an agreement on joint work in order to further develop cooperation.
On January 17, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in UAE H.E. M. Menilbekov met with Chairman of the UAE Federal National Council Saqr Ghobash.
The meeting discussed ways to further develop cooperation between the two countries, including deepening cooperation in the interparliamentary, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Ambassador Mr.Menilbekov congratulated Mr.Gobash on his re-election as Chairman of the Federal National Council on November, 2023 and wished him success in the Council's activities. In addition, the Kazakh diplomat spoke in detail about the important political, economic and social reforms implemented in Kazakhstan on the initiative of President K. Tokayev and based on the principle of a strong "President - influential Parliament – accountable Government", including the latest amendments and additions to the Constitution.
According to Mr.Gobash, relations between Kazakhstan and the UAE are dynamically developing from year to year with the support of the leadership of the two countries and as a result of mutual visits organized at different levels.
The sides stressed the importance of activating the process of the cooperation group and organizing mutual visits of the leadership of the parliaments of the two countries in order to give additional impetus to inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on joint work on the further development of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
On January 12, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Abu Dhabi between the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund JSC and the UAE Ministry of Investment in order to create a basis for investment cooperation in data center construction projects in Kazakhstan.
The document was signed by B.Mussin, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, N.Zhakupov, Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, and M.Al-Suwaydi, Minister of Investment of the UAE.
According to M. al-Suwaidi, "the signing of the Memorandum reflects the UAE's commitment to further strengthen relations with Kazakhstan."
In turn, N.Zhakupov noted that "the creation and development of data processing centers is crucial for the technological development of Kazakhstan. They serve as the basis for innovation and contribute to the economic development of the country."
In the first 9 months of 2023, the gross inflow of direct investments from the UAE amounted to $494.1 million.
