The Sub-Regional Training on ICT Security for representatives from Central Asian countries and Mongolia

From May 22nd to May 23rd, 2023, the Sub-Regional Training on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Security for representatives from Central Asian countries and Mongolia took place in the city of Astana. The event was organized jointly by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the support of the United Kingdom.

The training brought together cybersecurity experts from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, the Netherlands, and Tajikistan. The event served as a significant platform for international cooperation aimed at enhancing cybersecurity and fostering the development of ICT in the region.

The opening of the training was attended by the Vice-Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry, Askar Serikovich Zhambakin, the ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the permanent representative of North Macedonia to the OSCE, and the deputy head of the OSCE Program Office in Astana.

In his welcome speech, A.S. Zhambakin emphasized Kazakhstan's commitment to active collaboration with international organizations, including the OSCE, in the exchange of expertise and coordinated efforts to combat cybercrime. He expressed confidence that joint endeavors would contribute to creating a secure and resilient digital world for citizens and the business sector.

The objective of the training was to establish a platform for knowledge and experience exchange and to discuss current issues and challenges in the field of cybersecurity and information and communication technologies.
