Kazakhstan Becomes a Net Technology Exporter: IT Service Exports Exceed $1.1 Billion in 2025

By the end of 2025, Kazakhstan crossed a strategically important threshold: exports of domestic IT services totalled $1.142 billion. These figures, recorded by the National Bank, confirm the country's transformation into a net technology exporter. The current volume of export revenue is more than 2.6 times greater than expenditure on imports of foreign digital solutions, which stood at $429 million.

It should be noted that reaching the $1.1 billion mark in export revenue is an indicator of the maturity of the country's digital ecosystem. National Bank data confirm that Kazakhstani IT solutions are today in demand in more than 110 countries worldwide, and the current priority is to expand this reach through a network of international hubs — from Silicon Valley to Southeast Asia — to integrate domestic innovations into global value chains.

The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan is implementing a comprehensive set of measures, with Astana Hub remaining the key driver: exports by its residents reached $633 million. Today, 537 companies are selling abroad, with the geographic scope of deliveries covering Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, and the UAE. The ecosystem has created more than 32,500 jobs, and the e-residency project has provided more than 6,000 foreign specialists with access to Kazakhstan's digital infrastructure.

"The development of IT service exports is one of the key directions of the systematic work of the Committee on Digital Assets and Breakthrough Technologies of the Ministry of AI and Digital Development of Kazakhstan to build a fully-fledged digital economy. Today, we are consistently creating conditions in which Kazakhstani IT companies can enter international markets, scale their solutions, and become part of the global digital economy. The $1 billion milestone is an important indicator that the support measures put in place, the ecosystem development, and the international promotion efforts are already delivering results. Our task is to consolidate this growth and create a sustainable foundation for the further expansion of digital service exports," noted Gizzat Baitursynov, Chairman of the Committee on Digital Assets and Breakthrough Technologies of the Ministry of AI and Digital Development of Kazakhstan.

The country's global presence is also being strengthened through international innovation hubs in Palo Alto, Shanghai, and Dubai. A new development vector has emerged in the Southeast Asian region: at the CEVF 2026 forum in Tashkent, a trilateral memorandum was signed between Astana Hub, IT Park Uzbekistan, and venture fund Big Sky Capital. The partnership provides for the launch of a technology hub in Malaysia, which will serve as a gateway for Kazakhstani startups into new and promising markets. Acceleration programmes such as Silkway Accelerator and Hero Training continue to transform local ideas into competitive export products.
