The first vegetables grown using drip irrigation technology were harvested in Zhalagash district

In the farm "Er-Ali" of the Zhalagash district, potatoes and carrots are harvested for the first time today, which have grown by drip irrigation.

– We conducted an experiment, – says the chairman of the peasant farm Alibi Bekzhanov. – We had carrots on 5 hectares, beets on one hectare and potatoes on 24 hectares under drip irrigation. Beets will be harvested in October, as this root crop grows for about 220 days.

According to the chairman, experiments with various agricultural crops are being carried out on the farm. They were among the first to grow locally selected rice here, to use drip irrigation to grow an apple orchard on several hectares. Thanks to the moisture-saving technology, a large harvest of apples has been harvested here for three years in a row.
