National Guard Troops Detain Nearly 5,000 Offenders in First Quarter of the Year

In the first three months of the year, with the support of servicemen of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 82 units of cold and firearms along with ammunition were seized from illegal circulation. Additionally, 322 grams of narcotic substances were confiscated.

Thanks to the vigilance of the National Guard, 15 missing children were located and safely returned to their families. Guardsmen also played a role in 11 fire incidents, assisting in extinguishing blazes and rescuing people. In the same period, 45 lost items and 91 smartphones were returned to their rightful owners. While on duty, troops frequently provided assistance to citizens suffering from heart attacks, asthma attacks, traffic accident injuries, suicide attempts, or water-related emergencies. In total, 21 individuals received first aid from National Guard servicemen.

Moreover, 4,938 citizens violating public order were brought to law enforcement authorities, 194 of whom were detained on suspicion of criminal offenses.

For their active and conscientious service, several troops were recognized. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs – Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard, Major General Ansagan Baltabekov, awarded distinguished servicemen for their performance in the first quarter of the year.

— National Guard servicemen serve daily for the peace of our citizens, being a pillar of public stability and peaceful life. Our troops make a substantial contribution to national security through their dedication and honest work. The outstanding deeds and successes of our servicemen are clear proof of this! — noted Major General A. Baltabekov.

Previously, in Astana, troops from military unit 5573 evacuated more than 60 people from a dormitory fire, preventing a potential tragedy.

— While on duty, I noticed smoke coming from a nearby dormitory and immediately rushed to the scene. I entered the burning building and first led out elderly people and children. In total, about 30 people were evacuated to safety. Soon after, my fellow servicemen arrived to assist. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. And today, for our alertness and assistance to citizens, we were personally awarded by the Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard. This is a great joy not only for me but for my loved ones as well, — shared Private Zhomart Zhumabek.

In March, National Guard troops in Uralsk saved a teenager from a group of bullies. A similar incident occurred in January in the capital. There are countless examples like these, where the National Guard showcases its professionalism in locating missing children, apprehending violators and criminals, shutting down drug trafficking channels, and saving lives.

In total, 57 National Guard servicemen across the country were honored for faithfully fulfilling their military duty, courage, and decisiveness in maintaining public order and safety. Among them, 52 troops received letters of appreciation from the Commander-in-Chief, while five were awarded the “Қоғамдық тәртіпті сақтағаны үшін” badge.

It’s worth noting that National Guard personnel work jointly with police to maintain public order in 21 cities across Kazakhstan. Daily, over 8,000 guardsmen are deployed to fulfill this crucial mission.
