Guardsmen Detain Man with Narcotics

In the city of Zhanaozen, police officers, in cooperation with National Guard servicemen, detained a man found in possession of prohibited substances.

Law enforcement officers stopped a suspicious individual near a residential building in the Koktem neighborhood. During a search, an unidentified white powder was discovered.

— When we stopped the suspect, he was behaving strangely. A personal search revealed 15 packages containing a white powdery substance wrapped in black electrical tape, — noted Ongarsyn Akmuratov, patrol squad leader.

It was established that the detainee had multiple prior criminal convictions.

A pre-trial investigation is currently underway.
