An exhibition entitled “The Updated Constitution – Guarantor of a Just Society,” dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of Kazakhstan, opened at the Presidential Center with the support of the Constitutional Court.

The grand opening of the exhibition was attended by about 200 representatives of the Constitutional Court, the National Center for Human Rights, the Central Election Commission, the Institute of Legislation and Legal Information, the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President, the Institute of State History, the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the General Prosecutor's Office, government and public figures, renowned scientists, and workers in the fields of education and culture in the country.

The exhibition features about 150 materials, exhibits, and documents from the museum, archive, and library collections of the Presidential Center, reflecting the evolution of constitutionalism in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Unique exhibits include editions of the Basic Law in Kazakh and Russian, printed in Braille and prepared by the Constitutional Court in conjunction with the OSCE Program Office in Astana.

"The revised Constitution of 1995 supported the development of democratic suffrage, strengthened the role of Parliament, added opportunities for the development of government initiatives while increasing its accountability, strengthened the potential for legislative regulation with a view to more equitable access to natural resources for the people, opened access to citizens to the re-established Constitutional Court, and strengthened the human rights protection mechanism as a whole," said Sergey Udarcev, judge of the Constitutional Court and member of the working group on amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in his speech.
